Tata Motors will launch the facelift model of its entry-level hatchback Tiago and sedan Tigor next year i.e. in 2025. The company has clarified this in its latest investor presentation. These are models with average sales for the company. However, Tiago has higher sales among the two.
An average of 5000 units of Tiago are being sold every month. Whereas, for Tigor this figure is around 1200 units. Let’s know what you can expect from the new facelift models of these two cars.
What new will be found in the facelift models of Tiago and Tigor
Many cosmetic changes will be seen in the Tiago and Tigor. Both models had been last updated in the January 2020. That is, in the last 4 years, both these cars have started looking old compared to other new cars.
Therefore, a revised front and rear end can be expected with a new bumper, headlamp, and tail-lamp. Also, new features and upholstery can also be included for the interior.
The compact sedan segment is entering a new era, especially with the new Maruti Dzire and the next-gen Honda Amaze. In such a situation, Tata Motors also has a chance to capitalize on this opportunity.
Meanwhile, in the great hatchback segment, Swift has been getting a generational update current year and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios also has got a facelift in early 2023 respectively. All these models come with much more contemporary and better decoration than Tata’s compact cars.
The current generation of Tiago and Tigor was first introduced in 2016, but the platform that builds them is even older, with roots dating back to the Indica hatchback.
There is talk of the next-gen Tiago and Tigor moving to a new and more modern architecture, but the company is still finalizing its details. Therefore, the new generation of these cars is some time away. This may come only by the end of 2026 or 2027.
