A new beginning has been made in the field of hydrogen fuel cell technology in India. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari recently launched the Toyota Mirai, which is India’s first hydrogen-powered electric car. This car is environmentally friendly and does not cause any pollution, only water vapor comes out.
Features of Toyota Marai
Toyota Mirai is a mid-sized sedan, which is based on hydrogen fuel cell technology. This car can cover a distance of about 650 kilometers on a full tank and it takes only 5 minutes to fill it.
Nitin Gadkari said that this car is not only excellent in fuel efficiency, but it is an important step for India, which will give us clean and cheap energy.
Hydrogen car
Gadkari said that hydrogen can be produced from renewable energy sources, such as biomass and water. He said that using technology to produce “green hydrogen” will be important for the future.
The government has launched a mission of Rs 3000 crore to promote the production of hydrogen in India. To run this car, you need hydrogen fuel, which will be the future of fuel in the coming times.
Statement at the launch event
At the launch event, Gadkari said, “This is the first project of its kind in India, which aims to create an ecosystem for such vehicles.” He further said that “hydrogen-powered vehicles are zero-emission solutions.” This car guarantees zero emissions as it does not contain any combustible substance that emits smoke.
Design and interiors
The design of the Toyota Mirai is modern and attractive. It includes large boomerang-shaped headlights and a unique grille. Its interiors have a 10-inch display and a stylish center console, which gives it a premium look.
