The Indian market has been waiting for an affordable sedan for a long time. Although many cars are being sold in this segment, Maruti Dzire is the most popular among them.
People have been waiting for the update of this car for many years, meanwhile, the company launched Dzire (Maruti Dzire Facelift) in a new avatar in India on 11 November. This car has been introduced with many such features in its segment, due to which it is making headlines.
The most important thing is that the new Dzire (2024 Maruti Dzire) is the first car of the company to get the best rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Apart from this, it is the first car in its segment which comes with many features like a sunroof and 360-degree camera.
The company’s first steel car
Although Maruti cars are known for better engines and mileage, in terms of safety, the performance of the company’s cars has not been anything special. Many Maruti cars have not even been able to get a 3-star rating in crash tests, due to which the company has often been criticized by experts for poor safety.
However, in the new Dzire, the company has removed all the old shortcomings. Before the launch of the new Dzire, Global NCAP conducted its crash test in which the car scored quite well.
The car has achieved a 5-star rating in adult protection and a 4-star rating in child protection in the crash test. In this test, Dzire scored 31.24 out of 34 for adult protection and 39.20 out of 42 for child protection. The car claims to have good safety for the driver and passengers, while the side impact test also showed good results.
The new Maruti Dzire gets a new avatar
The design of the new Maruti Dzire is completely different from the old model. It has a large grille with rectangular LED headlights at the front, redesigned fog lamps, and a chrome strip with Y-shaped LED taillights at the rear. The top variants of the car get 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED taillights with DRLs. The wheelbase of this sedan is 2,450 mm and the ground clearance is 163 mm.
How is the powertrain
The new Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, which generates 82hp power and 112Nm torque. It is offered with the option of a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
Interior features are also great.
The interior includes features like a new dual-tone dashboard, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support), a semi-digital instrument cluster, and a single-pan electric sunroof. Apart from this, features like rear AC vents, rear center armrest, and 360-degree camera have also been provided.
The petrol variants of the 2024 Maruti Dzire are claimed to get a mileage of 24.79 km/l in manual gearbox (MT) models and 25.71 km/l in automatic gearbox (AT) models, while in the CNG version, this car will offer a mileage of 33.73 km.
