After a long wait, Austrian bike manufacturer Brixton has finally entered the Indian market. The company has launched 4 new motorcycles simultaneously in the market here. These are Brixton’s Crossfire and Cromwell range bikes priced between Rs 4.74 lakh and Rs 9.11 lakh (ex-showroom).

Initially, the company is bringing these motorcycles to India through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route. Which will be assembled at KAW Veloce Motors’ factory in Kolhapur. This is the reason why their price is so high.

However, the company also plans to start local production in India. Work is going on on this. So that in the future the bikes can be made available to the customers at an affordable price. The delivery of these bikes will start from January 2025. So let’s see how these bikes are-

Crossfire 500X and 500XC range

Brixton’s Crossfire lineup is a more accessible motorcycle model range. The company has given it the look and design of a neo-retro roadster. Its price is Rs 4.74 lakh. While the price of Crossfire 500XC starts at Rs 5.19 lakh. Both motorcycles have the same engine of 486 cc capacity. Apart from this, the mechanism of both the bikes is also quite similar.

The 500X comes with a very sporty and rugged design. It has very few body panels. Equipped with a thin single-piece seat retro style, this bike reminds us of the old era. It has a round-shaped headlamp and ‘X’ badging on the fuel tank. Although it has been given a basic design, some elements of the Scrambler are also found in it. Beak-style front mudguard, metal windshield, and number plate on the side make it quite attractive.

Power-Performance

In the Brixton Crossfire series, the company has used a parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine of 486 cc capacity. Which generates 46 bhp power and 43 Nm (Newton meter) torque. The engine of both bikes is equipped with a 6-speed transmission gearbox. It will compete with Royal Enfield bikes in the market.

Hardware of both bikes

The 500X and 500XC have adjustable upside-down (USD) fork setups at the front and adjustable mono-shock suspension for preload and rebound at the rear. Talking about braking, both the bikes have a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc.

In which a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) facility is available. In 500X, the company has given 17-inch wheels on both ends, while 500XC has 19-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels. These bikes weigh 190 to 195 kg.

Competition with these

In the Indian market, these bikes compete with Harley-Davidson 450X, Royal Enfield, and KTM’s big bikes in terms of engine capacity and price. Recently KTM has introduced its entire global range in the Indian market.

Which also includes the company’s most expensive bikes. Currently, Brixton is evaluating the market here by introducing these bikes. Later their local production will be started, after which their price is expected to decrease.
