Mahindra XEV 9e: Spy Shots
Ahead of its official debut next week, a test mule of the XEV 9e was recently clicked. The prototype of the amazing coupe electric SUV car was spotted testing in the Ooty, Tamil Nadu. These images have been shared by automotive enthusiast Karan Kasippa. Despite being completely wrapped in covers, the test mule reveals quite a bit about the XEV 9e.
It is evident that the XEV 9e prioritizes aerodynamics and this can be confirmed from its profile. The sloping roofline and sharp creases enhance the aerodynamic silhouette of the XEV.
A coupe electric derivative of the XUV700, the XEV 9e features triangular headlamp clusters with vertically stacked twin projector LED lamps along with fog lamps. The LED DRL strip always runs across the width and the sides of the front fascia.
The square wheel arches enhance the SUV stance of the XEV. At the rear, the biggest highlight is the ducktail-style tailgate spoiler that features the same LED DRL pattern as the front face which gives it a unique identity. Interestingly, the charging flap is neatly placed on the left side of the tailgate.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Expected interior and specs
Previous teasers have shared glimpses of the interior of the XEV 9e. Inside its cabin, highlights include a triple-screen layout that stretches across the entire width of the dashboard.
Other highlights like sleek air-conditioning vents, ambient lighting, an illuminated center console, an illuminated drive selector, and a massive glass roof are shared with the BE 6e that will share the platform with the XEV when it arrives in India on November 26, 2024.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Powertrain specs
Mahindra is still mum about the powertrain specs, but it is expected to offer two battery pack options: a 60 kWh unit and a 79 kWh unit. The larger battery pack is expected to offer a range of around 450 km under the WLTP cycle.
It is mainly expected to come with the both rear-wheel and the all-wheel drive configurations system. Like all Mahindra electric SUVs, the XEV 9e will also be built on the in-house developed INGLO EV architecture with engines sourced from Volkswagen.
